Booth is a Verb--Unplanned Interlude
The Clark was about to write about students and The Illidge, but the TV was showing The Lonesome Dove, when Gus dies as Woodrow banters with him, trying to hold back tears. The Clark cannot, no more than Woodrow, and thinks of the last time he talked with The Illidge in his hospital bed in Wichita, both knowing what would soon transpire. That story later. The Clark needs time.
