Sunset along the Canadian

In the northern Texas panhandle, the Canadian River cuts a small green swath in arid country, between caprock and bluffs, on its way from New Mexico to Oklahoma. The dry air, unimpeded wind and broken landscape make for brilliant sunsets and dramatic clouds, as the trickle of water reflects the last light of day.
