Season of Reflections

"Reflections," 5 x 7 watercolor holiday greeting card

 '
Tis the season of reflections, more so perhaps this year than previous ones as we look back and forward too.

The pandemic has changed all our lives and habits, as has an election unlike any other. There is a lot of reflecting going on right now...politically, and personally, and the holiday season is almost upon us, a traditional time of refection spiritually and socially. We have lots to time to think, and lots to think about.

Thus today's watercolor...a bridge , a journey, in a world that, in spite of turmoils and trials,   still has beauty in it...also worth reflecting on.

Eye Shadows

"Eye Shadows," 5 ' x 6"
What do you think of when you hear the word, "Glossy"?
A mirror? The reflecting surface of still water? Reflections in glass? Jewelry? Glass eyes? Dull eyes? Moist eyes?
Today's World Watercolor Month daily challenge prompt was just that, "Glassy."
I prefer a woman's eyes, moist with emotion, reflecting light, always captivating, thank you. But let's add a little inspiration. And all eyes harbor shadows of life and more--women are more aware of that than men, also using eye shadows.
Here 'tis, with reflection. 300 lb. d'Arches cold press paper.

16 days til Christmas--reflections

Reflections--5 by 7 watercolor
16 days til Christmas--a time for reflections, on what happened before.
Little things that stick in your mind over the years, a First Grade teacher's name, a postman, a saying, a special gift...the memories of certain journeys, of those who have gone on before us, but are still part of who we are.
The reflections are brilliant, and brighten the short days and long nights.

Reflections of Alaska, part two

Most of all, there is nature, the land, water, ice and clouds.
