Beauty in the beast

"Cold Beauty," 5 x 7 watercolor holiday greeting card

Frigid air, wide open lonesome spaces can be beastly on the Great Plains of New Mexico, but there is always beauty, made more so in a harsh season.

If there's a metaphor we need this year, it is that from nature. Despite pandemics of virus, racism, intolerance, violence and a political nightmare, there is still beauty and we've seen it all around us.

The beauty of courageous care givers and first responders, of goodness and generosity in times of need seems, of good news about good people to stand out more, to be appreciated even more.

Today's watercolor.
